UTS-4000R

UTS-4000R is an automatic system designed for the ultrasonic not-destructive test of railway axles during the production process.
The piece will be located inside the big tank, posed on the rotating rollers and then scanned. The scan process will be done during the axel is rotating axially on the two rollers. The piece is supported by the rollers and kept in position by a lateral clamping system.
The probe used for the test in an ultrasonic Phased Array probe, positioned at the end of the industrial robot KUKA, able to move along the rail dedicated to it parallel to the tank. The main aspect of the system is the size of the tank and of the mechanical equipment inside of it, able to support and to contain big dimension pieces. UTS-4000R has dedicated hydraulic system for the water recirculation and filtering. A polypropylene roll filters the water from the impurities of the tank. Peripheral electric pumps let the recirculation system starts automatically. Time intervals between the activations and the unrolling of the filtering roll are controlled by PLC. It’s possible to move the mechanical equipment with a remote pendant control station.
SmartPAD KUKA permits the manual motion of the industrial robot KUKA. A touch-screen panel permits the easy set up and customization of PLC commands and to use the CASONI Window dedicated software.
Predisposition for connection with external pieces transporters (ex. crane).
Automatic scan cycles connected to pieces part numbers.
