UTS-T represent a non-distructive testing equipment designed to ultrasonically inspect the electron beam weld in between the shaft and the wheel of the SWA (Shaft Wheel Assembly) that is used in the turbochargers that equip the passengers cars and commercial vehicles. The equipment consist of a rotating device that keeps the shaft rotating in front of an incremental moving fixture that holds the ultrasonic generator sensor that is also used as a receiver to scan the weld area in order to provide a fine analysis of the quality of the weld.
The specimen is located in the tank by operator. Operator has to proceed with the scan process set-up. The inspection will start and finish automatically. If the tested specimen will results conform, the pneumatic pen will engrave a C on the upper surface of the specimen. When the inspection will be complete, operator can start with next one.
The workpiece dimensions must be included in the following diameters range:
– ØA: max 13 mm
– ØB: max 25 mm
