Execution of artificial defects by electro-erosion (E.D.M.).

Through our fully computerized EDM plant, we perform artificial defects of different sizes, positions and types, on ferrous materials, special alloys or parts supplied directly by the customer. Our engravings are performed according to UNI, EN, ASME, ASTM, MIL standards or following the customer’s technical specification. The defects performed by us are accompanied by a dimensional certificate on which the customer and order data are indicated, the material, dimensions and tolerances of the piece, the processing date and the name of the person in charge. Furthermore, the customer can request the release of the mold (rubber imprint) relating to the defect performed. The same is then measured with a profile projector to verify the exact measurements of the defect.

Periodic Certification

Our qualified staff is able to perform up to 200 different measurements to evaluate the performance and correct functioning of the object to be certified. Careful analysis and data management with appropriate software preclude the occurrence of any errors.

Certifiable products
• Eddy current line instruments: through the use of certified probes and sample blocks.
• Portable induced current and ultrasound instruments: comparing the manufacturer's data with those found during the tests and using certified material.
• Eddy current and ultrasound probes: verifying the response linearity and signal resolution.
• Sample Blocks: by analyzing the chemical-physical data of the material, the dimensions and the effective state of conservation.
Reference standards:
• ISO 9001:2008 ASTM E317-06
• UNI EN 12668-1:2010 GROUP 2
• UNI EN-12668-2:2010 GROUP 2
• ASTM (for sample blocks)
• ASME (for sample blocks).

Staff training

Training courses on the induced current method (C.I.) and ultrasound (U.S.) are organized according to UNI EN 473 standards. The courses are held by qualified personnel (level III) and Casoni technicians.
The union of these two figures allows participants to acquire theoretical and practical notions of the highest level. This course gives participants the opportunity to interact with each other through the exchange of ideas on the various problems, while the long experience made available by Casoni combined with the practical tests performed directly inside the laboratories, make this course useful and effective in solving industrial problems.
